2nd Year CSE | IIIT Kalyani
My name is Anand Kumar, and I believe that sports are not just about games; they are about building character, fostering teamwork, and creating a vibrant, energetic campus life for everyone. I am known for my hard work, approachability, and deep passion for sports. I am always available to help and am fully dedicated to building a vibrant sports culture for everyone on campus.
My commitment to sports is not new. I have been on the ground, working for our college's sports culture since my first year.
Began as an on-ground volunteer for cricket(Yuva) in first semester and contributed to Anukriti through Anukriti's photography.
Earned a place in the Core Sports Team in first year, integral to organizing Inter-IIIT trials for cricket, badminton, kabaddi, and athletics.
Successfully led Lakshya, organizing futsal and badminton tournaments. Currently leading upcoming cricket and athletics events. Also assisted in chess tournament.
Had the honor of representing our college in Inter-IIIT Kabaddi team and competed at district level, bringing valuable experience to campus.
Managed logistics for FOSS Club and been an on-ground volunteer in almost every college event, proving reliability and team spirit.
Recognizing student interest, unofficially helped organize and conduct popular BGMI and Free Fire tournaments, showing initiative to cater to all interests.
My vision is not just to maintain the status quo, but to elevate our sports culture to new heights.
Actively work to increase the number of participants from our college in the Inter-IIIT sports meet, ensuring our best talent represents us.
Successfully conduct and elevate Lakshya 2026, our college's major sports festival.
My top priority is to significantly increase girls' participation in all sports activities.
Work to establish new teams for both boys and girls in Volleyball, Kho Kho, and Kabaddi, ensuring more students have the chance to play.
Implement regular, scheduled practice sessions for all sports, ensuring teams have dedicated time to train and improve.
Work to procure and maintain all necessary sports equipment, with immediate focus on providing new equipment for Table Tennis.
Building on past success, officially introduce and increase frequency of esports tournaments, including popular titles like FIFA, Valorant, and Call of Duty.
Launch inter-departmental sports and esports tournaments to foster healthy competition and camaraderie within our college.
Strive to allocate our own campus grounds for sports practice and events instead of relying on external stadiums, eliminating scheduling conflicts and travel time once and for all.
My past actions have prepared me for this role, and my future plans are designed for the benefit of every student. I am not just asking for a position; I am asking for the opportunity to serve a community I deeply care about.
